The Hermaphrodite: Mike Penner or Christine Daniels

...was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 27th. Many websites are reporting that he or she was a victim of an apparent suicide.

According to the Huffington Post:

Los Angeles Times sports writer Mike Penner, who announced two years ago he was a transsexual and was changing his name to Christine Daniels, has died at age 52, the newspaper reported Saturday.

Penner was pronounced dead Friday at a hospital, said Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Brian Elias. He said coroner's officials hadn't yet performed an autopsy or issued an official cause of death.

The Times said in a story Saturday Penner was believed to have committed suicide. Penner had returned to using the name Mike Penner last year and was a Times columnist at the time of his death.

The last three years has been tough for Mike. In 2007, he decided to transition into Christine. In 2008, he changed his mind and decided to de-transition into Mike. Now, he has committed suicide...

These two hermaphrodites performed last night at the annual American Music Awards celebration.

Honestly speaking, I stop counting the number of hermaphrodites who served as back-up dancers and or performers within the entourage of these two entertainers.

Update: Caster Semenya

The South Africa sports ministry issued an announcement that 18-year-old runner Caster Semenya will keep her medal for winning the summer’s 800-meter run in Berlin, along with $60,000 in prize money and the title of World Champion. They did not discuss her gender status or if she will be running in future races as a she or he.

She is not 100% female, and to be fair, she can’t race with the women--but neither is she 100% male, and it certainly wouldn’t be fair for her to compete among men.

The Athletics South African president Leonard Chuen and the rest of the track body's 12-member board were suspended today.

They have been reprimanded for their dishonest involvement regarding the leak of information surrounding the gender identity of Athlete Caster Semenya.

Papayas already come in three sexual varieties: male, female and hermaphrodite, but it is only the hermaphrodite varieties that produce the succulent fruit that is sold commercially. The problem for farmers is that seeds from hermaphrodite varieties don't always produce more hermaphrodites, and it is impossible to tell the sex of a seed until it has grown up and flowered.

The complicated sex life of the papaya is about to get even more interesting, thanks to a $3.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The grant will fund basic research on the papaya sex chromosomes and will lead to the development of a papaya that produces only hermaphrodite offspring, an advance that will enhance papaya health while radically cutting papaya growers' production costs and their use of fertilizers and water.

If a grant can be set aside to research hermaphrodite offspring’s for $3.1 million, just imagine how much a grant would cost to research the hermaphrodite offspring in humans.
