Police Charged With Incest


A police sergeant was granted bail Monday after being charged with two counts of committing incest with his two 14-year-old daughters.The 37-year-old Joe Farrington Road resident, whose identity is being withheld to protect the identities of the two teenagers, is accused of having sex with one of the girls between July and August 2008 and the other between November 2007 and September 2008.
The officer, who has been on the police force for nearly 20 years, was arraigned before Magistrate Janet Bullard.

He is being represented by attorney Stanley Rolle.

He was not required to enter a plea to the charges.

Prosecutor Sean Thurston did not object to bail. However, there were a few stipulations.

The accused is not allowed to have contact with any of the complainants. He is also prohibited from living with any female under the age of 18.

He is also required to report to the East Street South Police Station every Saturday before 6pm.

The officer was granted $20,000 bail with two sureties.
